As a werewolf devotee, the full moon has always been my jam. I mean, even last night it was insanely gorgeous, can't wait for tonight. But now that I know astrology, I realise there is more to it that it's beauty.
For one thing, it's time to let go. Maybe you don't know what I'm talking about (at least not at a conscious level), maybe something is niggling at you and you've been sort of wondering, kinda sideways because it's impossible, isn't it? How could you leave without it/them/he/she/that? It's basically who you are!
Only it isn't, of course. Whether you look at it from a spiritual or psychological point of view, none of us are that simple. Our true selves aren't dependent on any of the masks or parts we play in our every day lives.
Don't get me wrong, those parts are wonderful and important (or terrible and important), that's why we spend our lives building relationships, careers, literal houses. We need the protection of the pack, the shelter of the walls, the resources to be able to afford to sit quietly and dream looking up at the stars.
But as the planets twirl around our heads (it's a distortion, sure, but we are each the centre of our own universe, even as we belong to the giant diorama of the universe ourselves), things change. And they demand we change with them. They ask difficult questions with nearly unbearable answers (No, I don't love him anymore. Oh, fuck, I hate my job. All I want is to stop.)
Nearly. We can bear it, as much as it hurts. Because the one part of us that is true can hide but cannot be quashed, and so tonight as the full moon in Taurus gets the full power of the sun behind it and supercharges with Uranus Planet of New Things Now, try and open your eyes and look at whatever truths you have been to scared of.
If you have been catching glimpses here and there, it will be probably less of a shock and more of a relief. You can look it in the face and like most things we fear, it is not as scary in front of us as it was lurking behind.
And if you haven't been looking, determinedly squeezing your eyes shut to it all and listing all the reasons you are staying right where you are... Well, it might be quite a slap to the face, I won't lie. But that's just a wave crashing into you by surprise, no real harm intended. And it's dragging you to shore, just raise your arms and swim towards the light.
