I'm back! I actually have spoons to talk to another human being (this totally counts, though always more fun if you talk back ;) I wasn’t actually on holiday proper, but I did need a break from peopling after 45 days straight with my mum. More on this below, let's start with the bookish news ;p

Audio updates:
Unfortunately, the audiobook for “Alpha for the Pack” is delayed. That said, I have set up a pre-order on my site for those who don’t want to forget to grab it (for 1$/euro off). Plus, if you order it now, you get the audio for “Midnight Encounters” for free ;p The audio for Alpha will send automatically when I upload it later in late August/September. If you need any audio recs in the meantime, may I suggest checking out this Kobo Plus LGBT promo? These audiobooks are published everywhere.
Before that happens, I still have one opening for an audio proofreader, so shoot me an email if you have got the time to catch those finicky audio ‘typos’.
📚 Book updates:
As promised, here is a sample from the upcoming novella… “A Quiet Fire”. I wrote it on a prompt from a reader, which means that it’s pretty on theme for me (mpreg, arranged marriage, feminisation, omegaverse), but I’m an innovator at heart and the characters went interesting places this time. When I publish, that will mean new warnings/enticements, but you can read the first bit with the blurb alone and your head won’t explode ;p
🎁 For a chance to win an ARC, tell me your wildest guess of where the story will end up! (I’ll do a raffle, so go crazy and have fun guessing!) You can either email back or comment on the post 😊
Right now, I’m thinking the story will remain on my website for a while before going to retailers. But that’s me ‘thinking aloud’, do let me know if that’s an issue for you, the last thing I want is to make it difficult to access! I’m also half dreaming of getting my mike and recording the audio myself if the cover keeps taking as long as it is (oh, but it’s BEAUTIFUL even in its raw form), but we’ll see how the stars align there.
That’s what I have pretty much decided about life: I’ll nudge, but I won’t push.
You can now get “Always His” (with “Always Mine” included) in Large Print edition, because I like to put my time (which is money) where my mouth is and I finally figured out how to do them without paying a formatter. “Entwined: a love story” is also available in LP. Both are simple editions with less curlicues, but I made sure they are still pretty.
Let me know if there are any other books you would want in LP, otherwise my very modest goal is to get one done per month, starting with the shorter standalones because try as I might, I could not get “The Price of Ice” to fit into LP no matter how big I made the book (the only viable option is to do 2 volumes, which atm sounds a little nuts to me, but YMMV).
I’ll still do a few regardless, but if you find it helpful to have another format, please vote with the fake links:
Me Updates:
So the people I mostly needed a break from? My family, of course. Boundaries are something I’m learning after a lifetime of being enmeshed and entangled with them, and so are they… Still, I have pulled back enough to see more clearly and process some of the big stuff that’s happened recently. By the end of my stay in Barcelona, my brain was so mush, I was getting faint in public transport and I basically was hoping real hard I wouldn’t get run over. Caretaking is no joke.
I went offline a few days from Whatsapp, napped a lot, cuddled kittens and slowly, my brain started to reawaken. I’m still doing low contact and blocking a lot of apps on my phone during the day, including email, which has a way of intruding on everything. It’s hard for me to believe that if something is urgent, people will call and that email is an admin tool to be dealt with during admin times. Could be that I hate admin and I always feel behind so getting to read emails ASAP reassures me… But of course reading them when I don’t have the time/resources to deal with the issue to solve is actually counterproductive, costing me precious energy and leaving me feeling anxious afterwards (ask me how I know <.<).
Any great tricks for this madness called modernity, let me know! If you are interested, I might do a post on the stuff that I have come across that’s worked for me.
Check out the library in Granada where I got to work! Plus, like, the whole city, which is insanely beautiful if very hilly. I have been itching to see the Alhambra for years and it did not disappoint, the intricacy of the Moorish designs really appeals to me much more than the more modern Catholic renaissance additions (I was always more of a Gothic/Romanticism fan—simple I am not :p).

Updates From kittenland:
I have got new kittens for you! Meet Lady So!

and Lord Su!

I have been babysitting them for two weeks and I think we are mostly friends now (they were not pleased about the disruptions to their routine, but we adjusted eventually). Lady So even crawled into my lap for a cuddle fest yesterday (Did I melt? Why yes)
